Royal Icing Recipe

4.5 tablespoons meringue powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

¼ teaspoon almond extract (optional)

¾ cup hot water (steamy out the faucet)

32 oz powdered sugar (sifted)

Add all ingredients except powdered sugar into mixing bowl. Add whisk attachment & whisk on high until frothy (about 1 minute). Add in ALL sifted powdered sugar. Blend on low with scraper paddle for 10-12 minutes. This will be very thick. Use to outline cookie. Thin with extra water to desired consistency for filling.
